At Tenmari, you can order sushi one piece at a time, picking out a few favourites such as lean tuna, bluefin tuna, yellowtail or a sea eel and cucumber roll. The menu also lists nigiri sushi including lean tuna for 100 yen, salmon for 150 yen and bluefin tuna for 350 yen, making it easy to start with some of the more affordable options. One visitor found the rice portions generous and the sushi substantial in appearance. It’s a natural fit to choose a few pieces, then add sashimi or a small dish.

The signature sashimi platter is 1,860 yen. The generous assortment was described as thickly sliced, and another memorable dish was the sushi restaurant’s potato salad, said to include pickled ginger. Its sweet-and-sour flavour and hint of spice sound like a good match for something to enjoy with a drink.

The selection of snacks includes salted squid guts and firefly squid marinated in soy sauce, alongside Japanese sake. That makes it possible to centre a meal on nigiri, or spend the evening sampling sashimi and snacks with drinks. Some diners have also enjoyed oden and skewers, offering a few more options for a meal that unfolds gradually. Seating includes both counter and table seats, and the restaurant is described as suitable for solo dining.
